New Music Video Released - "Christian Country Girl"

Red Roots has released their new "Christian Country Girl" music video this Thanksgiving!! We are so thankful for the opportunity to encourage teens as well as adults to stick to their "roots" and convictions each and everyday.  People are pulled into two directions in their lives constantly, so it's great to know that as Christians we have God to direct our lives in His direction.  Thanks for watching and sharing!! We would love to here your story! Feel free to comment below. -Natalie, Nika, Nicole

12 weeks of winners of the "Who's Your Favorite DJ Contest?"

WEEK 1:
Melissa Flores (Radio DJ at WAIJ in Grantsville, MD)
Christina (Listener)
Why is he/she your Favorite DJ?: I have been so touched by how she lives her life the same in person as she does over the airwaves! Melissa is such a blessing, she prays for anyone anywhere no matter what her time schedule is. She has even went so far as to send direct e-mails to me to let me know she cares! I pray she wins this because she works so hard in her ministry to touch many lives with Gods word! Thank you.

WEEK 2:
Ike and Sheri Lafontaine (Radio DJs for the nationwide show "The Ike and Sheri Show")
Mark McNulty (Listener)
Why is he/she your Favorite DJ?: Ike and Sheri always start my morning off right. They bring a great balance between comedy and spiritual discussion. And of course, they play the best music on radio!
WEEK 3:
Roger Jackson (Radio DJ at Worship Radio 88.9 in Augusta, Maine)
Charlotte (Listener)
Why is he/she your Favorite DJ?: Roger Jackson (RJ) loves Jesus and he loves christian country music. When the station began, he was so excited, you could hear it in his voice. RJ genuinely gets you, the listener, excited about the things of the Lord, always referencing scripture and encouraging his listeners to stay focused and purposed in their walk with the Lord. He has fun and he enjoys sharing with his listeners. Though I have seen him at different concerts and station activities, I have never met him but just from listening to him on the radio, I am sure I will meet him some day in heaven. I am thankful for his commitment and positive influence he has to bringing the lost to salvation through the radio ministry. I think there are alot of folks that prefer country music and will listen to christian country and the words will speak to their hearts, who might not listen to the contemporary christian radio that we have available in our area. RJ was instrumental to bringing Christian Country radio to this area and it has made a difference.
WEEK 4:
Jim Hutson (Radio DJ at WYGS, Columbus, IN)
Rosella Wallace (Listener)
Why is he/she your Favorite DJ?: He knows great gospel music, because he has been a part of it throughout his life.  He knows the community and what they enjoy, because he is a part of it.  And I love most that he is always willing to listen to new artists and give the community an opportunity to hear them and give them a chance.
WEEK 5:
Danny O'Day (Radio DJ at WCON, Cornila,GA)
Tom Smith (Listener)
Why is he/she your Favorite DJ?: Mr.Danny is a verbal encyclopedia of gospel music history and is up to date with the newest groups and songs.
WEEK 6:
Mark Hampton (Radio DJ at WCNW, Fairfield, OH)
Fred Baker (Listener)
Why is he/she your Favorite DJ?: I have known Bro. Mark since he was just a boy, before wives, before children, before careers got in the way of callings. Bro. Mark has a heart for the LORD and is a great blessing to our community. Always positive and "wonderfully blessed", as he reminds anyone who asks, Although he had to walk through a long dark valley after losing his job, he stayed positive and Bro. Mark has been placed where God is using him in a great and mighty way, everyday. More than a lifelong friend, able DJ, pastor, Bro. Mark is a great inspiration to me and many others through his radio ministry, I believe Bro. Mark was born to be the radio minister he is.
WEEK 7:
Paul Lunsford (Radio DJ at WFSR, Harlan, KY)
Debbie (Listener)
Why is he/she your Favorite DJ?: I would like to vote for Paul because he plays uplifting songs.  He cares for the listeners and is always there for you.  He works very hard to keep the gospel going to reach souls.
WEEK 8:
Eugene Eubanks (Radio DJ at WOSM, Ocean Springs, MS)
Gloria Pierce (Listener)
Why is he/she your Favorite DJ?: He has a wonderful, clear southern voice.  He doesn't dillydally on what he has to say - gets to the point.  So therefore, he can play more good southern gospel and bluegrass music! And that certainly includes Red Roots!
WEEK 9:
Patsy Ford Dickerson (Radio DJ at KTXJ, Jasper, TX)
Crystal Gray(Listener)
Why is he/she your Favorite DJ?: If I had to sum it up in two words it would be BIG HEART! Patsy has such a way of making everyone she meets feel just like family. She touches so many hearts each day, by her loving and caring spirit.  She is not ashamed to share with everyone the great love that she has for God and others. If anyone is in need of prayer, she stops everything in that moment and prays.  She is truly a reflection of God's Love.
WEEK 10:
Rhonda Cook (Radio DJ at WTBH, Chiefland, FL)
Denise (Listener)
Why is he/she your favorite DJ? She plays such uplifting, wonderful southern gospel music. She tells the name of song and the artist which I like alot. If I'm having a bad day she always seems to know just what I need to hear. I have called in a request for a song and within several minutes, it is playing. So thanks Rhonda for the joyful sounds of music you play.
WEEK 11:
Chris Grindrod (Radio DJ at WEEC, Springfield, OH)
Bethany Lemon (Listener)
Why is he/she your Favorite DJ?: He has been such an encourager for me to keep working for the Lord! Every month he has encouragement for me!  He is a down to earth great guy and cares about the people of his community! He is actively involved in reaching people with the message of Christ outside of the dj studio! I know he plays great music and I know his listeners are blessed!!
WEEK 12:
Ellis Manley (Radio DJ at KJIC, Santa Fe, TX)
Charlotte Novosad (Listener)
Why is he/she your Favorite DJ?:  Listening to Ellis is just very uplifting to me.  I work in a junior high school and try to be an example to the children, and some of the kids have commented on my gospel music.

Grow Contest Winner Announced!!!

Congratulations!

Jacob Williams

Scripture Verse

1 Corinthians 3:7
It's not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What's important is that God makes the seed grow.

How does your photo and scripture connect?

I am growing these cabbage with the help of my little sister and mom. It has been a lot of fun and a growing experience. We have learned that we need to go to church to get our watering and food from God, and we depend on that as the plant depends on us for its water and sunlight from God! If we let God water us just like we water the plant, we all grow. We were once a seed from God just like the plants!

Daywind Music Group/Red Roots Receives Telly Award

Nashville, TN - Daywind Music Group, Red Hen Records and Evidential Productions have been recognized with a 2012 Bronze Telly Award in the category Internet/Online Music Video, by the 33rd Annual Telly Awards Association. The award was presented in recognition for the Red Roots music video, Double Wide Church. This original storyline was written by Rick Schweinsberg (Daywind Music Group) and truly is more a comedy epic-adventure than just a mere music video. Video direction and all editing and pos-tproduction was handled by Billy Brown (Evidential Productions).
The 8:21 minute mini-feature was shot on location just north of Nashville across three days, and included cameos by many of the Red Roots very own fans. Red Roots owes a special thanks to the "Double Wide Church" congregation, which was made up of fans who won a mini-contest after submitting their best "Hillibilly" photo of themselves. The fans traveled far and wide across many states just to be part of this very special event. Two Southern Gospel D.J.'s Cody Duett (WOSM) and Mark Hampton (WCNW) also participated in this production. In addition, Red Roots thanks The Book of Acts Pentecostal Church (Gallatin, Tennessee) for allowing the group to film in their facilities.
The video also features a special appearance by famed character actor Bill "Bobby" Byrge (Ernest Goes to JailErnest Scared Stupid, and others). Devin McGlamery (Ernie Haase & Signature Sound) showed his acting side by playing a surprisingly, scary role of a "Swamp Person." Also, Nashville musicians Anthony Johnson (keyboardist & engineer), Micah Schweinsberg (drummer), and Jeremy Medkiff (guitarist) performed as the "Double Wide Church" band.
The Red Roots are Nika, Nicole, and Natalie Taylor. These three, red-headed, identical triplet sisters are best summed up in the band name Red Roots. They have developed a sweet, pop-country sound while incorporating an inspirational message. Their journey of growth can be heard and seen through their music, but was ultimately shaped by their "roots" of family and faith.
